I found a rather unlikely path to photography. I studied literature at UCLA and had big dreams of writing the Great American Novel. But life sometimes has its own plans for you.
I did some writing for some websites and somehow became a graphic designer in the process. After getting tired of pushing a mouse around all day, I picked up a camera and it just felt right.
I'm still in the business of telling a story, though this time it's through images. Last year, In 2007, I started experimenting with sound and everything is coming full circle. The words are back into the picture, so to speak, and I'm using both my visual and narrative talents.
I specialize in documentary photography and portrait photography. I am personable. I get along with people and when you're photographing people, that's actually a pretty good trait to have. I am straightforward and honest and when we work together it won't seem like work at all.

In order to tread lightly on the planet,
I travel to all my photo shoots and assignments by
bicycle or public transit. It is environmentally friendly and sustainable.
My bike is specially outfitted with an Xtracycle, which allows
me to carry lightstands, strobes and my cameras to locations.
Yes. It's unorthodox.
Yes. It's a little crazy thing to do
in Los Angeles. However, nothing great is ever accomplished by doing things
that are thought to be normal.
I will arrive on time. I will arrive dresed in an appropriate manner. No, I will not be wearing spandex.
If corporations can have “corporate responsibility” statements,
I can have a personal responsibiltiy statement. In 2007, I logged about 7000 miles while riding my bike to and from photoshoots.
That’s a lot of miles.
Since I’ve started biking,I have NOT contributed about 50,000 pounds of emmissions.
More importantly, I started dozens of conversations with people
about my unique choice of transport.
I believe that being an evangelist for a better world is done through your actions, where “the rubber meets the road” so to speak.
In 2008, in addition to my continued bike commuting, I will donate 5% from all photoshoots to World Bike Relief, a company who gives mobility back to the people of developing countries.
Remember, where there is a wheel there is a way!
